Hey everyone, got my test results and some metals are showing up. I've lost all my torches, all acros and zoas are very shrunk up. I've checked all my magnets with the exception of my 2 MP40s which are working as they should with no noise. No metal hose clamps on my setup. Any other ideas what I could look for? Appreciate any help

You will get 100 opinions.

1. The nitrate - non-issue.
2. The manganese - Probably not an issue
3. The tin - to reduce it - water changes - or a metal absorbing compound.

Overall - none of the issues (assuming you have no bare metal exposed in your tank - which I would doubt - as you said you did) - are concerning. Everything looks good to me. I would suggest you recheck the basics - Salinity, Alkalinity, pH, Ammonia, Nitrate - with tests on your tank.

I appreciate the response. My concern is the elevated metals coupled with my complete loss of acros and torches. The tank was going along amazing and then out of nowhere noticed some acros turning white and torches receding rapidly. No flatworms found which is why I sent out the water to be analyzed. I also just opened up my MP40s and both magnets are still sealed with no corrosion.

Can you list the specific metals you're concerned about? The Tin is elevated - If I were you - the immediate solution would be water changes - actually the immediate solution would be double checking all test results. PS - Sorry about your corals

How old is that system?
If your concerned about metals you can run a poly filter and see what colour it changes too.
Or run Meta Sorb to do the same.
I doubt you have a metals problem though.

Appreciate it. The tin, barium and aluminum seem high. Zinc is elevated as well

Almost two years and everything was solid up until about a month ago

My ICP always comes back with some metals, but, never affected anything over 6 years now.

Not overly unusual for torches to just go “poof”.

What are your fluxes in parmeters within 24 hours?

Sorry, I can’t see the actual ICP numbers.

Tank has been solid and something clearly became "off" to just wipe out all SPS and torches. I've disassembled all MP40s with all magnets in tact. All other magnets in tank have been removed with no visible signs of damage. So I'm not sure where I'm getting metal from. Buddy suggested to look in the sump to see if any of my toddlers dropped coins in there buy that seems far fetched.

Euphyllia are prone to bacteria infections also. Did you see one head declining at a time or did the whole coral go downhill fast? This would suggest something negative in your water column. As others stated, most of us show metals present in our ICP tests.

Your Nitrate and Iodine are too low.

The corals are starving.

There is no real issue with the metals, although you could run some polyfilter to drop the tin back.

His nitrates is 14ppm? That's fine but he is quite low in a number of trace elements such as iron which is essential to coralnhealth.

I certainty don't see anything in your ICP analysis that would account for what you described...Something else is going on...some type of water contamination...some coral disease...Can you identify any changes made a month ago or just before?...added coral...changed salt mix...changed additive supplier....stuff like that...That is where I would start looking IMO

Not a slow process, the torches receded rapidly. I had a kH swing of about 0.7 before I realized my doser went offline. Ever since that rapid swing, I noticed major issues with the corals. Wondering if it just stressed the acros out as well
