I was able to pick up a used Mag 18 that I will use for water changes. I ran the Mag 18 and the Dc12000 juxtaposed in a brute trash can and was surprised that the Mag seems to be pushing more water than the Jebao. Im hoping that the output of the mag which is 3/4" is acting like a venturi or the nozzle of a pressure washer and forcing all that water out with more pressure when compared to the Jebao which is double at 1.5" and not that I have a weak Jebao.

Mag 18 - 1800GPH - 16.85' Max head
Jebao DC12000 - 3170GPH - 15.7' Max head

It's kind of hard to see which is which and I can't hear what you're saying at all.

I hope that the dc12000 isn't weaker because I have one on the way. It was a toss up which to get as well, mag 18 or dc12000.

I think to be a fair test you should temporarily reduce the output size of the dc12000 to the same size as the mag 18 and test again.

Oh sorry. Yea the one I had on from the start is the Jebao and the mag 18 is the one I turn on then off.

I think it might be because of the output size. Kind of like the same speed of wind in an open field blowing through an alley. The alley causes a much stronger flow due to a narrower pathway. I'd be willing to bet that if you put a 3/4" on the dc12000 it would push the water out of the can. Like a geyser :)

The Venturi effect. Im hoping that's all it is. I thought about it after I dumped out all the water and didn't feel like wasting another 20G to retest. When its time to clean my 20G tank ill try it again. Maybe ill do it this weekend just for the heck of it.

Man I was thinking of replacing my mag 24 with one of these now I am not sure. How's the build quality?

So far not too bad. The Mag 18 is WAY heavier than the Jebao which looks a tad on the scrawny side. I do like how it slowly ramps up to full power though. Ill try my best to a fair comparison this weekend.

None. Well maybe just a subtle hum but no vibe.

I was running a mag 18 on tank before with 3/4 hard plumbed. Now run jebao 12000 hard plumbed with 1" reduced to 3/4 going up back of tank, and it also feeds my bio pellet reactor with 3/4 hose. This pump is way stronger then the mag 18 ever was. Here is a pic of the hose lines. Also have to agree that its silent other then a slight hum.

Wow!

I'm planning on running 2 or 3 - 3/4" returns plus a 1/2" sb spraybar x6' return plus 3 tlf 150 reactors. I hoped this pump would do the job. Sounds like it :)

This is good news. My return is 1.5 " that splits into 3 3/4" returns. I also have a tee with two lines for a reactor and my fuge.

That's pretty quiet :) Thanks for the video. Is it running full throttle in this video? I'm still hoping it's going to be enough for my 180g with 24" of overflow on the skimmer box with 3- 1" drains.

No prob. Its either full open of 2 steps down. I ran it full power for a couple of days then dialed it down. Dont remember when I shot the vid though but i think its 2 down.

I'm running a jeabo internally and a external pump the external pump is rated for less then the jeabo but its definitely stronger

BOO Matt! Not what we wanted to hear!
I was afraid of that. Externals are usually pressure rated though could that be why it is stronger than the Jebao?
