It’s sad as he has a great entry level priced lite that even experienced reefers were happy with. His customer service or the lack of is going to kill it.

I had sent my messages through the website and Facebook and they told me they sent out my new aluminum tank mounts and they never did. It was over a period of 3 or 4 months and that’s when I decided enough was enough. What I saved in money on the lights was definitely not worth the frustration and aggravation

Yeah, I was really frustrated staring at almost $560 just lying on the floor doing nothing for almost two months.

I also recommend the reefbreeders photon lights. Emailed them before I purchased with questions and surprisingly got a response within hours. After I ordered, they had it shipped out the next day. Love the light and very easy to mount.

Well hopefully mine end up working. I ordered them Monday and they arrived today...3 days. I bright the basic setup... just using it on a coral QT.

Yea, I was seriously considering them but now I'm not so sure.

$135 vs $380 is a pretty big difference in price though. Especially when I'm buying three. I just cant afford that, the 135ea is do-able for me. I would still get the sb's over a black box straight from a chinese seller. Sb might have poor customer service compaired to western countries but I'm sure it's still better than others in that price range.

They are in the list of companies I will never deal with based on zero customer support.

For what it’s worth, reefbreeders has amazing customer service and I’ve personally had amazing success with SPS and the photon V2.

I have a six foot tank, if I keep maybe one or two sps in the middle, lps and shrooms on the side do you think I can get away with the v2 50?

Call the shop directly at (850)898-3707. I am there 6 days a week, and answer the phone all day. Phones are staffed Sunday as well. Not sure why folks can't get through on the phone it rings all day. The email link on the website stopped working last week, web developer is on it. In the mean time email directly at [email protected]

We sell over 600 lights a months with thousands of satisfied customers. Over 24,000 lights in the last 3 years. Do we ever drop the ball? Yup, we are human. But we always try to pick it back up and make things right.

One complaint is too many, however with over 24,000 lights sold if poor service was a consistent issue we would have been out of business long ago. :) There are literally hundreds of posts here and on Facebook praising how we go above and beyond for customers. We've replaced lights that were dropped in the tank, lights out of warranty etc... That's the reason our band has grown so fast. Some growing pains? Sure.

Trying to contact us through social media is not always the best route. I have 8 employees and they can not see my personal PMs. Of which I get over 100 a day and even more tags. However they can answer the phone and check email.

Calling the shop is always the best way to get us. Or direct email. So anyone who has unresolved issues, feel free to call the shop tomorrow or Monday and I'll be glad to help. At the hospital today so out of pocket until tomorrow.

I need to ask a question regarding one of their products. I've pm Mike months ago, asked the question in the forums, tried calling the contact number several times with no luck, and attempted to send an email via their website but it keeps giving me an error message every time I try to send.

Anyone have an idea how to get in contact with them? All I want to know is if the 72" ultra will be release next year as the teaser video suggested.

Thanks for the help

72" will be mid 2018 at the earliest. We've debated on the 72 and 96" version, however shipping goes up exponentially when you break 48" length. 2* 34" units will actually cost less. Since we now include the connecting bars for free, you can simply make a "72" out of 2*34". 2*22" shown below for example of the connecting bars.

Ok thank you for the reply! And I understand sometimes things don't go as planned, I was simply in a situation where I was about to settle on a light and was debating between a few. Plans changed so mid winter I plan on getting one. I'll give you a call if I choose sb!

@SB Reef Lights

Does the 36" sBar use 3w or 5w Cree XPE leds and how many are there? It says 81w but i am assuming that is the rated wattage not what they are being driven to? What is the actual driven wattage?

For example, the reefbreeders lumenbar32 has 27 5w Cree XT-E which have rated wattage of 135w but they are being driven to 40w.

It's helpful to have this information readily available to consumers who are trying to decide between several similar product offerings from different companies, and I am sure other folks are wondering this as well.

Thanks
