As I stated - It spreads. Best is to remove with pick or scrape off.

Yep already grabbed the little bugger and cleaned him. Thought this sponge was super cool at first but now its so annoying

generally not unless a piece gets severed off

Also, just taking the hermit out of the water might help kill the sponge. They don't do well exposed to air. I'd wipe the shell and dry it before putting the hermit back in.

This might be a really stupid question but it wont grow on a fish right? Nala my lion fish likes to perch on the sponge all the time

I kinda figured but I was surprised to see it on my hermit shell so I thought I would ask!
