Help with sump?

I want to go bare bottom. I want to put down starboard or plastic but how would I do this with the giant corner overflow?

Make sure that you have a ball (( or gate )) value on the pump. IMO/E that Mag9 is going to have too much flow for the overflow and sump (( sump might run dry )). Both my 65 and 75 (( Reef Ready with 20 long sumps )) have Mag5s, and they are throttled back a bit -- have to be.

I decided to go with a mag 7. 9 is overkill

Not a problem man. You can get hose clamps to hold the tubing on the barbed fittings. Like this:

You should be able to find them at any hardware store or Home Depot.

You have no idea how helpful you are haha.

Can't pull it off if I tried

Do you have a ball/gate valve after the pump?

What about removing the pump for cleaning? Mine (( hard PVC )) has a union so I can remove it for easy cleaning.

Can see the ball valve, and the union is partially hidden by the black rim on the sump,

So far it's a disaster. Something is leaking under the tank, water goes into overflow, but avoids drain pipe, and the overflow is leaking through the rerun hole. Tube came off pump and shot water everywhere and I'm mopping 20 gallons of water of the floor.

You get things squared away?

Yes. I tightened the bulk head as much as I could get it. It was still dripping, but instead of a constant stream it was 1 drip every 5-10 mins, and it landed in the sump below so no harm. It has now stopped dripping. I switched out the ten gallon for a 21 gallon container, and I swapped the mag 9.5 for a mag 7. Water level stays constant and the pump and return are equal, so the water level has not varied for almost 40 hours. Positioned my light so the sump is lit up by the main fixture as well. Getting rock today, will be starting a build thread.
