Help with sump?

My adavce would be make it as big a you can to fit in your stand or where ever your going to put it. My 1st one I made out of a 20gal long and hated it after awhile as I started to run out room as I upgraded things. From my experience you realy can't go to big when comes to the size of it. But as others have said pick out a skimmer and then built your sump around it. I still wish I had more in mine so i could have area for frags one just for the heaters, one for a fuge, and one for reactor pumps and what not, I feel it always nice to the room to expand.

I would recommend using Teflon tape on the threaded connection for your return. Hope this helps

I would guess looking at the parts it's a deep blue tank? Of so I would suggest getting new bulkheads. The ones they come with are pretty cheaply made. I have seen them fail more than once.

Any pics if your overflow? Like where the water is pumped out trough the nozzle.

That's exactly what I was looking for thanks! Does the return go in the larger of the two holes?

The return will be the smaller of the 2 holes. Your durso (drain) goes in the larger.

Problem. Return tube fits over the plug. But but then falls off. Should I silicon it?

The gray hose stays on. But with the slightest tug it is pulled off.

Not a problem man. You can get hose clamps to hold the tubing on the barbed fittings. Like this:

You should be able to find them at any hardware store or Home Depot.

Make sure that you have a ball (( or gate )) value on the pump. IMO/E that Mag9 is going to have too much flow for the overflow and sump (( sump might run dry )). Both my 65 and 75 (( Reef Ready with 20 long sumps )) have Mag5s, and they are throttled back a bit -- have to be.

Do not over tight the bulk heads I have deep blue tank to just snug them. I upgraded my bulk heads brs or aquarium adventure n Columbus ohio has them
