Help

Thank you very much. Does this mean now my rock is curing. When would it be safe to add rock. I’m also burning. 2kj of live cured Fiji rock will that help
If you can only detect nitrates with no signs of ammonia and nitrites then you should be cycled.
If you have cured Figi, then you can add that in too.

Also I have got Red Sea nitrate and phosphate remover should I use it? Or just keep doing regular water changes. again thanks

I rather stick with water changes before I'd feel the need to dose Nopox.

Either way...
Bring down your phos. and nitrates real slow.

Might want to grab these two test kits:

1) Hanna ULR Checker / for phosphates (got to keep the vials squeaky clean)
Here's a cheat sheet for the ULR checker (ppb to ppm)

2) Salifert / for Nitrates

If you feel good about things after testing. You can add beginner corals like mushroom and other softies.

It would be best to setup a quarantine tank to hold (observe and treat) before adding anything new to your display.

Thank you very much you have been a lot of help. Nice to now there are people like you out there. Look after yourself

I use these and other's can sure chime in too

Calcium / API or Salifert
Alkalinity / Hanna Alk checker, but API will do the job
Magnesium / Salifert
Nitrates / Salifert
Phosphates / Hanna ULR checker, but switching to Elos down the road
PH / Salifert

Don't know anything about ebay.

I shop around at Marine Depot / Bulk Reef Supply / Dr Foster and Smith and Premium Aquatics

What kind of internal filter do you have?

It’s like a draw hangin in the back of tank and water falls threw 3 diff things white balls. Carbon and sponge

Well have you seen this website for all in ones?
https://intankaquatics.com/intank-products/

I use to run Purigen and changed when needed in my all-in-one.

I ran the blue and white filter floss (on top of the 10oml bag of Purigen) and changed the floss ever day.
You can cut down the floss to the size that you need.

Thanks buddy that’s what I’ve got 3 compartments so change the floss in first conpartmen everyday ?

Help please I’ve had. A reef tank running a long time. I had cheap lights on the tank so got new lights much stronger. They have been on for a week and now my rock is starting to go green

Regular water changes at a minimum, I wouldn’t add anything until you know what the parameters of your water are. If you’ve had a fish in there for 4 mos I’d say the tank has cycled but please test your water.

How many hours a day are your lights on for? You may have high phosphates also but at 4 mos old your tank is entering the ugly phase. Test your water for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates at a minimum and post the numbers here. There are plenty of people here to help.

I’ve turned the lights to 50% 5 hours a day the tanks been running 7/8 mounths

Not trying to say anything negative but that tank isn’t nearly big enough for that Hippo Tang or (Angel?) having those fish in a small tank can lead to aggression and or health issues.

So they have out grown there. Tank why are my rocks turning green I changed the light a week ago and now it’s turning green

Yes, the green is algae. You need to test your parameters for your water and post the numbers here. I’m sure you’ll get an answer. This could be a normal response in your tank depending on parameters and the length of time your tank has been up and running. Turn down the white spectrum to about 20% and the blues to 65% that might help.
