I just picked up an used reefer 350 yesterday. It tooks me a while to balance the fish tank while the fish and corals were in my car at 73 degree for 5 hours. All of them are soft corals. The tank is up at 78 degree now. I added Dr. Tim’s first defense and eco balance to help. Here are my questions:

1. Protein skimmer keeps overflowing no matter how I adjust the water level.
2. Do these corals look bad? Zoas are all closed. Are they going to recover from it? Is there anything I can do to help?
3. Blue Hippo has been hiding under rock since I put the fish in the tank. Is this normal? And goby morning where to be found.
4. Bangai has just been flowing around and was stuck on MP40. It looks like has no energy at all. What should I do?

Last picture is the original fish tank.

You just set the tank up, things should get better. Turn the mp40 down to the lowest setting. Can you take a picture of the skimmer when it’s off so I can see where the water line is?

Yes you want the mp40’s set low for now. The corals look fine and will get better over time. As for the skimmer, the water level looks fine. Open the valve on the left side of the skimmer all the way and see if that fixes the overflowing issue :)

You might consider an Ammonia badge to monitor levels, Run some carbon and small water changes daily or evey other till things settle down. Best of luck
