Bayer is a good dip, I use it and it’s widely used in the hobby. But each to his own.

What if I toothbrush with some hydrogen peroxide?

That should help with any algae but not most other pests.

You don’t have ANY chemicals in your tank? What about: chloride (Cl−), sodium (Na+), sulfate (SO24−), magnesium (Mg2+), calcium (Ca2+), and potassium (K+)?

I also use bayer, it is a lot less harsh than peroxide which I would not use on that torch.
