Helpppp acidentally dump test kits in tank!!!

when you test you are neutralizing the component you are testing for. with the small amounts involved i would wonder what the contaminants are that you fear were introduced into your tank?

I'm not scientist/chemist, im a ceramics engineer, I make glass for windows, aquariums etc lol so I have no idea if the test kits are super toxic or inert.

You're talking somewhere on the order of <.0001 ppm (if my math is right and assuming each drop is a dilution as well). If something is lethally toxic at those levels, it's going to be lethally toxic at half of that. And I just can't imagine anyone would let us by that kind of thing online.

Meaning - water change is probably not worth the expense and trouble.

Depending on what you dumped in, maybe adding some Prime could help? But yea i think carbon is probably the best option for now.

That makes sense...

Thank you all I just had a panic attack...I have way to much time in this tank literally only 3 months old, upgraded from a 40 breeder...

Each vial had what, 1 mlof reagent in them with 10ml of tank water.... so you are talking about 3ml of reagents give or take in a 120G system. I wouldn't even worry about it, but if you are, then just do a 10-15% WC and then not worry about it.

No worries...we've all had panic attacks (which i call reasonable precautionary attitude - level of reasonable goes up with investment of time and money). Just means we all care. And we're all here to help. Good luck!

Thank you all!!!! Your all the best!

So long story, set my completed salifert test kits on my aquarium after I did a water change, mag, alk, and calc.... as I turned to grab them my gf opened the front door dog bolted between my legs and I spilled all three test kits into the tank. I do not have any salt water fot a water change but im making more rodi water as we speak, tank is 125 gallons plus 30 in the sump. I'm currently running carbon in a reactor....am I doomed?!

I do not think this is any concern. I do not think any of the ingredients are a problem.

I personally would do nothing and would not do a rush water change.
