Never had Carson's. But there is a place called Firewater BBQ about 20 min from my house. Some of the best BBQ (ribs, pulled pork, brisket) I had in Chicago. For a chain place, try out The Patio, next time you're in town. Their ribs are pretty good (even though they not smoked).

Not sure. One guy said they were redoing the sand bed on one coral system. He used to have these huge cubes in the center of the store with real expensive fish like $1000 tangs and those tanks are gone. Last fall he had a big tank by the front door with sharks and that’s gone. All the regular fish tanks at the front are very sparsely populated.

If you want amazing corals and the best bang for your buck, go to ReefGeeks in Northbrook. You will only find him on Facebook for info tho. Don’t look at website as it says closed.

Reef Geeks is definitely solid!! I read n hear of people driving from all over (couple hours away) to come check out his place. As for me I have it lucky in that I can WALK THERE from where I live.

As Chitown said he did sell a load the other day, but there was still plenty to choose from for what you asked about. Good looking pieces and great prices. Really bright torches and hammers. And you won't be disappointed in the acro selection....even after he sold so many.

This guy has people driving in from ALL OVER the place!! I'm talking anywhere from 1 to 3 hours away. So that can pretty much tell you what you need to know.
There was a young couple there not long after opening I met that drove in all the way from St. Louis just to hit up his deals.

Stand up guy......great prices......pieces bigger than the norm and everything healthy. Sure glad as I said he's so close to my home, as if I'm too lazy to walk it's a half mile/2 minute max drive.

Talked to Luis at reef geeks. He has purple tangs coming in on Monday for 75 and powder blues for 35. Look him up on Facebook if you want one. FYI they go fast.
