I am an ex reefer and now a fowlr keeper named Martin from the UK. I currently run 3 tanks
1. 6 ft x 30”h x 20”d fowlr
2. 4 ft carpet nem and clown species tank
3. 5 ft pet midas cichlid called Simon

I have over 30 years fish keeping experience and more than 10 years keeping marines. After 9 years keeping reefs of various sizes I decided last August to switch to fowlr as tbh my reefs were always overstocked and were more about the fish than the corals. Going fowlr opens up a new would of fish such as angels, butterflies, triggers and my beloved Australian harlequin tusk fish.

Fts of my system I don’t have a great deal of live rock as I use marine pure in the sump for the majority of my biological filtration.

Welcome to R2R, Martin (@Martinc2 )!
Your FOWLR looks great. I cannot speak for anyone else but I'd like to see pics of Simon too!

Handsome fella he is!

Never had Midas cichlids but did have Oscars many moons ago. Had them in a standard 90g (4 ft.) and had to rehome them to a friend with a 150g as they outgrew the 90g.

BTW - there are quite a number of UK reefers floating around this site. Let us know if you'd like to connect with any of them.
