A little to introduce myself. I was born and lived all my life in Vancouver,as a young child i was fascinated with beach critters.the crabs under the rocks, the different types of algae that you might find washed up on shore. My uncle lived in Oakbay on Vancouver Island, when visiting him I would always make my down to the bay. The tidal pools were teeming with life, I loved observing it all, touching the anonomes and watching their reactions, looking at all the other critters scrurry about.

As a teen I was gifted a 10g aquarium, in which i chose to keep neon tetras and gupppies as well as well as plants, what was available at the I .But my Interest waned as I felt the fish were, well, pretty but not really interesting, got them a new home.I tried aquatic frogs, can't remember what went wrong, they might have just died in tank probably not fed correctly. I then got a firebelly newt whom stayed alive for a bit, till one day the tank was empty, and about two weeks later i found the dried up thing under a rug. After that i decided i was not the steward of aquatic life, so i quit.

Later in life i joined the Vancouver public aquarium to help support it, but really it was to get in free, well kinda free cause i bought a membership, but it was worth every penny.

But now, the reason I'm posting. I'm going to get wet again.Doing my best to get all the information i can, been lurking and reading threads here so much. This board is the best i have found.I feel this forum is the best place to get help and advice and I want to say thank you, but be prepared to answer dumb questions :)

Welcome. And I do the same thing. I am a member of a couple local aquariums... so I can get in whenever I want. But also to help out best I can.
Glad your getting your feet wet again. The hobby has come such a long way in technology and information. And as always were all here to help
