I understand I was speaking "in general".
Thanks for your advice, if my sponge doesn’t seed enough 1 month. Should I use Bio sphera and soak my sponge in?

I always use biospira to Kickstart biofilter in a newly setup QT. It is critical your biofilter is capable of processing ammonia prior to adding fish and beginning treatment.

Another good one according to a recent study done by @Dr. Reef is the fritz turbostart 900

But should I use bio spira when treating ick shield?

Yes.

Here’s a thread on ick shield. It’s not an effective treatment, unfortunately.
I know but Cooper treatment need too much work and I almost of town so imI want to keep it simple

Copper is pretty simple. I think above all you want a treatment that’s going to work. Treating with several snake oil products first is a lot less simple than doing it right the first time

You right that why I use scale for dosind powder. Have you ever use ick shield pellets?

No I have not. The science was never in it’s favor so I opted for tried and true methods.

Did you use bacteria in a bottle to cycle? I generally use BioSpira or Dr Tim’s although Fritz Turbostart 9000 seems to be the best (but I’ve not used it personally). Use a seachem ammonia badge to monitor ammonia.

I used biospira last week and I’m having amonia badge. The color on the badge still yellow which seem as safe range. The water just little bit cloudy

Could be a bacterial bloom. Keep an eye on it, it can eat up oxygen and foul the water fast. Large water changes are your friend in those cases.

I will keep track on those. When making water change, I have to dose ick shield with proper amount for those right?

Ick shield is nearly useless, Unfortunately. I wouldn’t dose any of it. But you know our opinion of that product :)

Lol I could see my tang doesn’t have any parasites on its skin, but my fish tend to hide a lot and turn white when I came especially at night, but it has normal blue during daytime. I’m not sure he heal up, but no more white spot on it skin.

You right, my fish doesn’t eat much like before and try to hide a lot. During treatment, do we expect its color fading??

It’s possible. Not a good sign though can be sign of infection.
