HLLE developed within 12-20 Hours??

The only time ive seen that happen is when i got the idea to try and fight algae using fluval clearmax..

My blue hippo had hlle almost immediately...

FWIW, marineland black diamond doesnt cause hlle. Many reefers including Randy Holmes used black diamond up till 4 or 5 years ago. I still use it in some of my low stock tanks

Yes i agree! Looks like she got caught up, my naso tang gets scraped up all the time from being an aggressive swimmer. Takes about 2 days for it to heal

Tanks a lil small for multiple tangs imo... 1tang only till ya hit 300gal or more. Just my 2cent

I am pretty certain it is caused by newly introduced carbon because I experienced the same thing. I forgot to rinse my carbon and ran them in a BRS reactor. Noticed the HLLE symptom the following morning but it was too late. Lost a large fairy wrasse and a large starry blend. The smaller fish like fire fish showed no symptom.
The dead fish had pale colors and lost scales. I researched online and found cases that linked to dirty or soft carbons. So now I rinse all my carbon excessively and I only use the BRS 0.8 rox which is arguably the best carbon on the market
