That’s what I’ve heard too. They don’t leave much wiggle room for customizing. I buy second hand so starting over with new plumbing/bulkheads is a given for me.This is penciled in After repiping and resumping a RSR250. The stock kit under those is about Terrible.
I will fully rebuild it from inside the overflow down through the sump. The replacement bulkheads are cheaper than the metric to standard pipe fitting available for it.That’s what I’ve heard too. Did you need to replace the bulkheads on your rsr to switch to US fittings?
Very interesting never heard of you guys and yeah fraction of the cost!Acrylic is a petroleum product. Our raw materials costs are going up almost every week. Then of course there is the shipping. Again, petroleum. A DIY sump kit makes a lot of sense. We have some you may be interested in or we can design one for you. Fraction of the price. >>> https://tenecoraquariums.com/collections/diy-baffle-kits
EDIT: Photos coming soon.

I was LUCKY enough to pick up the entire system, free of charge from a fellow Marine who had finished his contract and was moving home, the next day. He needed it gone and I was happy to "help" out.
$467 today at BRSOkay so I know this is going all over the world right now withprices going up but dang the sump (trigger 34) I was looking at for a future build went from $430 to $520.
Even more of a reason to go diy now. Difference before would’ve been about $200 and now it’s $300 which in my mind doesn’t make a premade sump more worth while. 40 breeder sump here I come!
Sorry not one to rant but this one hit me hard!

Maybe near the cost of a 30g sump. But at that point you're getting near the cost of a prebuilt
I'm not sure how much water volume you'd actually have with this setup? You're right though, for the $400 ish you get quite a bit more volume. I was just thinking about the amount of open space you get to work with.Maybe near the cost of a 30g sump.
I don't know of any prebuilt, in that footprint/volume near the price point. If you do, let us know.
