Homeowners and Humidity

I heard that houses in the US&A are made of pressed paper.. If that's the case - humidity is bad!

Hi All,

Do you think this humidity needs correcting?

Anything green is <60%

Ideally . You want around 50% in the summer and 30% in the winter .
Anything above 70% or below 30% isn’t good
Above will cause mold which is dangerous to breath
Below 30 is too dry

In my apartment with the 230 gal I have to run a dehumidifier 24/7 and all year
If it’s not emptied when it’s full the humidity will climb to 80% within about a day .

they are all made from paper mache actually. When it rains we cover our houses with garbage bags. But we have in door plumbing and dont toss "refuse" in to our ditches.

The garbage bags also acts as way to collect clean water along with added security

This would almost me the same as saying all Canadians live in igloos .

Perception isn’t always accurate.

I’m sure building materials vary from different places around the world but most would be structurally similar

Naw its timbers, concrete, and some accent stone. Just being goofy like @Borat. Paper mache would not be conducive to all the bullets flying around this lawless town I live in.......lol

Of all places for a Canadian to road trip ha ha .

I might change route to the other side of Lake Michigan
Its prettier over there mostly. Any big city has issues, in all honesty its not that bad here but there are places I wont go. My next door neighbor was broken into and the guy was still in the house when they got home. The guy didnt want to leave. My neighbor told the intruder he had a gun and wasnt afraid to use it. I guess the intruder left and police were called. The police said they caught the guy and he said he broke in to their house because he was afraid to break in to mine..... he said Vikings scare him. Thats what the officer told me the intruder had said. lol guess im lucky I look like a cranky old "Viking". The cop a I had a good laugh. It did make me wonder if this guy had somehow seen my bladed weapon collection.

I have humidity issues as well I live in the Chicago burbs and humidity is an issue here year round one cure for winner is to open your windows for 5 minutes where your tank is everyday and use fans, ceiling and wall fans ext it's been working for me for years
My humidity used to be so bad my walls would sweat in the winter
