Honor Our Fish

I didn’t think this post would happen… Especially since yesterday he was healthy and didn’t look like he had any sign of death. Today I lost a favourite and he grew on me to the point he got a name. I rarely name my fish unless they really grow on me and this was one of those cases. Today I found my Pink Streak Wrasses body half torn and in the grasp of my Pom Pom Crab (Lybia spp). Ironically the thing that I was most proud of in him was the thing that had him identified as the fish that was being eaten… The blue in his anal and dorsal fins.

RIP Stripey with a mohawk

My Mandarin! Started out in a 10 gallon system, tailor built for her, eventually moved to a 25 and got a male that she went with for a good while, until he suddenly one day just turned hyper aggressive and attacked her relentlessly. She got eggbound and died not long after that. :loudly-crying-face:

Both of these have saddened my heart. Rest easy in fish heaven. I’ve always wanted a mandarin.

if my wrasse passes it’s game over I’m going John Wick.

I’m ready to flip hands as this is the second nano wrasse I’ve had die unfortunately… surprise surprise, both were a year old and died just after March.
