That's one drawback to cheap pumps and some that are not so cheap! The Coralvue Waterblasters dont get hot and are a great value.its an ecoplus 1584. not used to these big pumps so wasnt sure if this is normal or not. didnt wanna attach it to my system and boil all my fish and corals lol
Hey Gary Nice to see you around again! I have that same pump at Dustins and his gets hot too so you must be lucky or just not see the heat they put out in general and we had one quit just like you did for no apparant reason, Not a real good track record IMO.Im running the Ecoplus 4950 on mine and dont have any issues with heat, and i have alot of headpressure! I think im pushing about 10 ft vertical and 35 to 40 horizontal!!. Pretty quiet as well..... Its been running for about 6 months no problems...had to replace the first one it just stopped working one day after a power outage it never turned back on.....not sure if was a pump failure or power surge problem...

The water Blasters come with a 3 year warranty and are electronic with No Heat issues and are dead silent, Much better choice IMO

Where can i find one of those water blaster pumps? and do they make one big enough to run on my tank? You remember my setup, i have alot of head pressure! I though about getting a small sump to put under my stand but just couldnt bring myself to doing it...Its too complicated to get anything under that stand the way its designed!
