Hello!

I am in San Antonio (so…not me). I’m a crotchety old recluse who hasn’t travelled in 18 months but I was just helping someone break down their tank and they mentioned how awesome the coral shops in Houston are. There is also an amazing Acan farm in Austin which I don’t think is too far a drive (maybe a day trip).

Well then I’ll tell you. Shipping is hard here for 8 months out of the year. You have to be very careful and be patient. I’ll buy things and most higher end shops will hold for shipping until the weather dips a bit. If it’s over 95F no amount of ice packs will save you.

Myself outside of hardware I don't plan on shipping fish or corals I know there is some places around Texas I can drive to and get what I want and get home in 8hrs. I have a lfs that will jump thru hoops for people and if he buys a fish even if ordered he quarantines etc so the wholesaler works with him not one calls and says it's here come get it. It's a call saying it's here come see if you like it if you don't he reorder and sell that one in his shop I've actually got some rock in his bins for 7 months now so arch pieces and caves I picked out he put in a bin that they don't sell out of.

Huh, that place is open? In my ventures in looking for a LFS near the Kingwood area I drove to their place a couple months back and it looked like it was shut down. I landed on a place named FJW off of 290 n 610. Good place with helpful peeps and nice stock. Welcome!!!
