well... she is all setup! I ended up going with the conduit idea and I'm pretty happy with it. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Nice and clean! I have the same setup using the conduits with the 24" 6-bulb ATI. I zip tied the power cord to the conduit to hide it as best as possible and inserted the excess hanging cord back into the conduits, but that's partly the OCD kicking in.

Kessil mounting arms for the AP700. But because of the overflow, I had to machine a couple of aluminum brackets to go between the light and arms. Then the arms could be moved outward beside the overflow.

Seems you have your solution but if you want to switch it up and hang from ceiling. Here's how I hung my spectra.

Bought two of these ceiling fan brackets from HD

Then i threaded the cable through a blank plate and around the bracket

That's funny you wrote this because I thought about the ziptie idea for the power cord and running the wires back through the conduit... just didn't the time to mess with it yet.
