Just for more info , how many method we know to cycle new tank ? And how is working ????

I used the fish less method. Basically using pure ammonia, which I learned can be hard to locate locally.

Raw Shrimp from grocery store, thrown into a net, then layed in the tank. Makes plenty of bacteria for the tank.

+1 - This is what I've been using. Works great! Pure Ammonia is hard to find but once you have a bottle lasts a long time.

If you go this route. I found pure ammonia at one of the dollar stores.

Here's a pic of the bottle. Hopefully it will save someone else all the time and trouble I wet thru to find it.

How about using live bacteria to start cycle ? Its very popular now and shorter period to finish cycle

raw shrimp or pure ammonia Is the best way. never use fish. you can also cycle with live rock. I set up my 120 gal. with 140 lbs. of lr and tank cycled in 10 days.

Live rock will cycle tank quickly , even u will get mini cycle and ammonia will spike in acceptable range

ACE hardware sells 100% pure ammonia. It is what I always use.

I find that using ammonia instead of the decaying shrimp method makes the cycle go faster.

How much ammonia do you put in because I am new to this and want my tank to cycle fast

I was given a cup of sand, a couple of bits of rock and some dirty water from a friend. i had a pretty bad cyano bacteria bloom early on but it disappeared quickly and my tank has been good since.

I started with dry rock and I used raw shrimp. I just let it fully decompose in the tank, added a piece of live rock about 1-2 week in (because I wanted coralline)

I added like 1ml per 10gal of water IIRC. That should be plenty.
