I've driven from Conway to Fayetteville (about 2.5 hours one way) several times including once for a frag swap. There are two pretty good LFS in that area.

Drove 70ish miles one way for my used Biocube 29HQI.

Im the person does not like to drive. I consider each distance in terms of ROUND TRIP. 100 miles = 200 miles
I then consider shipping unless its a Pure deal.
Just did an hour and 10 minutes last weekend to buy out a tank. Was close to 3 hours round trip at the end but worth it

Didn’t technically drive, but I got a “good deal” 2,500 miles away. I live in California and my brother got me in touch with a deal of a life time in Pennsylvania. Guy had a tank for three months, had to move because of his job.

$1,100 for Apex, DOS, additional Apex equipment, 2 Radion xr30 gen4, 2 mp40wqd (plus extra wet sides), 2 varios4 return pumps, regal 150INT skimmer, plus much more...

Paid for a few priority mail boxes and my brother and parents packed the rest in their suitcases when they came to visit for my wedding.

used radion xr30 from a lfs...in florida...drove down for my buddy's daughters wedding....1500 mile round trip....he's also given me tanks, pumps and other stuff as he tries to downsize....in florida they sell shells as landscaping material for about $ 50 a ton....so all the shells my hermits grew into got picked out of another friends driveway down there....way back when we used dead coral skeletons as tank decor i got mine from a souvenir store in daytona beach for about 1/10 what the lfs were charging....that was a 2000 mile round trip cause i lived in ny back then....got a one foot hunk of live rock that came back from the bahamas wrapped in a damp beach towel....

Drove from where I live in Pennsylvania to Connecticut to pick up an old 150 gallon oceanic tank (made to last). Got a good deal. $300 for the tank, stand, sump, lights and a couple pumps. Only use the tank and stand. Was a good deal from a good guy. Took me about 4 hours 1 way if I remember,so around 8 hours round trip.

I’m about to drive 900 miles round trip to a LFS. Well, I’m also meeting a realtor to get my house sold (recently moved). Going to bring some frags back while I’m in town :)

I dont think that counts...lol

sorta like saying you drove 1500miles for a Subway sandwich when you were just on vacation and happen to stop at Subway for lunch.

What was in Denver 2yrs ago? MACNA or smthg? Two local guys in our reef club drove from Cincy to Denver and back. 20hrs one way. documented the whole trip via a blog and pics.

160 miles round trip to WWC and TSA!!! only problem is I-4 corridor it's a freak in zoo, there is a saying that goes "pray for me I drive I-4", but worth the trip.

The furthest I've driven is from the Poconos to Atlantic City for a 150 Deep Dimension tank and stand, about 2:45 and 160 miles each way.

At 450 miles away, I don't think that would be a "local" fish store anymore!

That depends if you live in NJ or UT. Some places out West are a tank of gas away from the nearest other "place."

I live 200 miles one way from dfw so 400 miles both ways. Closest Lfs to me unless you want to count petco 100 miles one way to it.

I live 2 hours from a decent fish store (about 100 miles each way.) so 200 miles is what I put
Same, about 90 miles each way for my store, but I've made a couple 150 miles one way to a bigger city to scoop up a good deal on a tank.
