How long did your redsea tank last?

Redsea has nice tank but their stand with those little pin supporting the tank and the overhang front glass panel always scared me. Few people i know had leaks from the front panel. I setup several redsea but didnt have them longer than a year till i sold them.
So the question is:
What is the longer redea tank you had or still have. Not counting nano tank. 400 and up models.

Red Sea 350. 3 months old. My glass has gotten a little scratched. It sure what from.

My 425 will be 2 yrs next month that was bought used. Not sure how long it was in use before me. I'm sure he told me but I can't remember.

Of the 100s of thousands of Red Sea tanks sold over the years I wonder how old the longest running system is?

I had mine for about a year before I upgraded. Not very helpful, but that was my experience. I've gone through the threads and looked for data on this, and my conclusion is that somewhere around 2-4% of Red Sea tanks have issues with leaking. That isn't very high, which explains why there're so many RSRs around, but it's high enough to deter me.

My Red Sea Max S-400 was bought by its previous owner in 2013 and has been setup the whole time minus a few months when he took it down and I set it up.
I have never owned one of the Reefer series but the Max is very well made IME.

Hi I am thinking of getting the Max S400 or S500, is the tank fully supported at the bottom or does it have the floating overhanging front panels? I rather get something that the bottom is completely supported by a solid panel underneath it.

Honestly, I don’t remember. It gets covered up with some trim strips so once in place you don’t see the bottom or top of the glass. Tomorrow I will slide one of the trim pieces over so I can take a picture of how it is built.

Thanks, I think the front panel is still unsupported even in the MAX-S 400 500 series. But good to confirm

I think it probably is too but the max series has the advantage of having euro bracing on the top and bottom. I’m not home yet to look but I will be in a little while.

The glass on the front and sides are over the stand, they just don’t touch. I guess adding some shims to it would be pretty easy. I may end up doing that on mine just for a little extra piece of mind.

Looks like there is some support in the form of the red hatched panel? That's good. The glass panel is not floating.

I had a 250E. Lasted 3 years and 3 months before the front panel seal started to fail. It was 3 months out of warranty.

My 425XL is 3 years and 4 months old. Still looking great on all seams…

You seem mainly interested in larger tanks but for what it's worth we have a Max Nano that is like 7 years old, a C250 that is ~10 years old, and an E260 that has been running since they came out 5 years ago.
