I run a 12 hour cycle on mine... 6 am to 6 pm. 2 of the tanks have a ramp up and down setting that I employ, the 3rd is a simple on-off timer.

10am to 10pm with a looong ramp up to a peak in the middle (virtual noon) then back down. Early and late ramping changes to deep blue/violet. Around virtual noon is more whitish. I picked that time period so the wife gets to see it too.

0930 to 1830 with a 1 hour ramp-up and 1 hour ramp-down. My tank is still new so I am going slowly to avoid an algae bloom.

I don’t have much coral in the tank right now and I’ll adjust as need be when there is more.

I don't know. Every time I go downstairs to look at the tank, they are on.

Blues on at 9am -10:30p
OR3 bars on at Noon - 11p
Orphek and Hydra 26 on 3p-10:30p

Blues come on at midnight.
Ramp up starts at 730am
Blues go off and whites go on at 8am
Whites go off at 4pm
Ranp down until 430pm
Dark from 430pm until midnight

Two light cycles

8am to 1pm Mostly 400-470nm Actinic

1pm to 5pm OFF

I'm usually out of the house running around anyway. Read somewhere a long time ago, maybe from Dana Riddle r2r lighting expert, that light periods longer than 4-5hrs only promotes algae and does little for coral growth/color..... meaning corals get their light nutrients inside 4hrs and not more than 4hrs. I've been practicing two light periods fir YEARS. Corals and fish have adjusted and come to expect two light peroids.

5pm to 11pm Mostly 400-470nm with a Red light pop

11pm to 8am OFF
