I have 3 mp40 in a 120 gallon 4×2×2 , all on reef crest mode, the ones on each end run 100% and the one on the middle back at about 35% . Have no idea how much that is

I would say you have around 10,575gph based on mp40 specs from ecotech website. That’s 88x turnover

Th
Their is 2 turnovers.
1 how much flows through your sump.
2 how much flow you turnover/move in your tank.
The reason I ask, without hijacking this post is I have a problem with DT flow, I recently added corals and an anemone, corals doing fine after a bit of re positioning, bt anemone has split into 2 and looks like it doing a lap of the tank lol

It is looking for a place to attatch.
It may be to much flow for it.
I had to remove a 12 head frogspawn and the clown that it hosted to my frag tank because of to much flow.

I got the rock it was attached to from lfs, probley flow which I have since turned down. That what drew me to this thread, saying that the lfs could nt separate it from the rock, he also said he may of damaged its foot, but it was ok, as I was handing my money over lol

I have a red sea 170, I have a Nero 5 pushing about 1600GPH and a MP10 at 100% TSM mode all day..

IM I'm pushing maybe 4000GPH in there in a mixed reef?

I would say about 95 times turn over rate.

2 reefwave 45’s at 100% and 4 MP40 60-100% throughout the day. 210 gallon 8’ tank

Total turnover in my 20g sps tank is 125. Running 2 mp10s

Absolutely no Flo in my tank. I can't deal with nuisance pests

In my 6foot 125 gallon I have two 4K ice caps two power heads and one power head/wave maker the size of a mp60 that cranks it’s at 50% forgot the brand name but it will send waves over the tank if at 100

My 75 gallon sps dominate one 4K gyro two 1060gph power heads and Nero 5 wide open

What kind of schedule are you running?
The Nero 5 (really wish I had known about the Nero 3) runs low, and varies around 950-1150 only kicking up 3 times a day to stir things up

The aqamai run anywhere from 5-90% on a set based off one of their “lagoon“ maps

Leaves me with about an average of 60, and a “max” high of 88gph throughout

I think my tank is running at approx 50 gallons of water. 2 X 1050 GPH pumps at 90% comes to 1,890 GPH at the moment. Only a few small frags as I'm just started out with them. Plan on mostly softies until I get new lights.

First off great thread and being newer this is all good info. My search was to figure out what I should be running my return pump for sump at? 100 IM Ext. Using the mighty jet xl that came with it. It's 100 gallo s and the lowest setting on mighty jet xl is 1062 (10x minus somefor head pressure) looking around i see some notes (BRS)saying 5 to 10 times. So what is your sump flow rates. And now I'm asking myself why did IM include a 10 times that can go to 25 times? Is it overkill? Thanks everyone.
