Agreed, especially since my new love of photography was developed because of the marine hobby

I have had a lot of hobbies and intrest stem from reefkeeping too..

in contrast, every hobby cost money. when i go on surf trips, i spend in the thousands. building race cars cost in the thousands.

its lucky i have no kids and no wife! :nerd:

It's a hobby I don't keep track that would be stressful!! Besides I have been keeping tanks since I was 12yrs old now at 59yrs a caculator would go up in smoke if I tryed to figure it out....

So true. If you stop now think of all the money you wasted. And wasting money is like throwing it down the drain. Which reminds me I have to dump out my water change bucket.....

I definetely spent more then I would like to remember if I had to ball park I would say about $10,000.

I don't know what I have spent but I do know I lost approx $3,000 worth in clams all in about a one month period. That month sucked hard.

Like a few other people here one thing leads to another. Saltwater aquarium to scuba diving, scuba diving to underwater photography, and then came dive vacations. Now we are to broke to take dive vacations but do have some good looking stuff in the reef tanks. We have learned over the years she doesn’t ask me what that coral cost and I don’t ask her how much those shoes and Dooney handbags cost. If I put a figure to the cost, it would make me to sick to enjoy it.
