How much is coral where you live

The lfs 1-1/2 buys corals from local reefers. That's one way they keep cost down. The other way is they buy in large bulk orders. My lfs 10min away have not figured that out yet.

It was funny the other night when I was upgrading tanks and moving all my corals over I had them sitting in a tub and lo and behold my wife started counting them and I figure average 30 or 40 apiece and I had 52 frags she starts doing the math and giving me hell. Looks like I got to get her something nice...I wonder if she would like a coral.

Haha never let the wife know how much it really costs lol!

Wisconsin here and about the same average as many listed on here. We do however have sales put on by stores and can get items fairly reasonable in price with good health

These are good prices where are you from?

The best I've found, typically people want 10-15/head on most LPS and zoas they just pull a number out of a hat it seems. I'm not an SPS guy, so I can't comment on their prices

I usually watch auctions on Ebay. Living Reef Orlando and Aqua SD both have really great frags. I've been able to pick up a few Jason Fox. You have to pay shipping but everything I have received came in healthy and just like pictures. Not the best pics but you can see an example of a couple of shipments. Prices ranged from $10-$35. 20181107_172727.jpg 20181114_170229.jpg

I need to try one of those ebaybauctions I'm just afraid to get coral shipped I guess

Here is the deal, unless you’re one of the big 3, you’re not gonna pay insane prices for Most of what everyone listed. What most listed is pretty fair priced. But if you have to have name brand and buy from the source then your gonna pay wayyyyy more.
Thats just the way it goes.

Not sure how much in total I have spent. Most of mine came from live sales. Have a few from a Lfs, 6 head frogspawn was 100,. but it's a 3 hour drive to him. Gotta love wy, not much for Lfs around.

I would imagine it to be hard to get coral up that way

For Zoa's in my area are mostly frags. they low 25 and high as 60, Leather Mushroom $134. I can make this simple. Since the Ban for Transshipments all corals of any kind have gone up. So nothing will be cheap. I bought a Rainbow Bottom Anemone for $1200. So the price will keep going up. The Rainbow Bottoms were first sited after the ACI was working on more colorful Anemones. Dive if you have a license in Tampa and you will find a lot of corals. Since the Ban from Taiwan and Australia the one place place is China. It has the biggest Black Market in the West. There are a few in the united states you can go to. Grand Bahamas, that's the biggest Nassau is goo as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands. So as far as buying or what you are selling you might compare to get a better Idea of what you are selling and what it has sold for and then you can give a better price. I'm new but I know these bans and it is affecting every sell every seller. So compare prices is the way I would go. I'm looking a Green Mushroom Leather Coral and have yet to find one. I'm patient and hope someone on this site has something close to what I'm looking for. Hope the price comparing helps

Well I'm in Virginia. Softie is 39 to 49. Zoa's they range from 1 button to 4 or 5 there prices range Zoa's aren't they were will make you drop. Like I saw a 3 button 150. Acro is steady and well priced. Hammer another kill Green and Purple are around depending on how big they have hit high as 150. Torch I wouldn't touch because it is always over the high price I found one small one for 120. Do it really depends on what your selling at price. I like the multi color Monti. So that's why said compare because the ones that are real popular like Frogspawn, Hammer and Torch are really priced high. It's a judgement call when you compare because what you have could be higher than most. If you find a range of price of your item you pretty get a good idea of the and try making it more likely to sell. Now I know you go on eBay, in you my eBay and your will see items that have been sold for and that part helps. If you need anything else I Will gladly help if you need it
