How much time do you spend on your tank.

Question... at my LFS they've got a nice pair I want. however they've never ever eaten live food. Is it an instinct they'll pick back up or starve?

And I have a pet sitter for the dogs when I go out of town... Gonna get her over here and teach her how to feed the ponies. That will let me at least take weekend trips.

My were raised on frozen and believe me they go crazy when they see pods. I think it's a very basic instinct. I think you could phase them off of frozen.

thanks to everyone, it really is good to see such a variety among reefers on how much time we spend with our aquariums.

Mine go after anything that moves. Including my 2 brand new ORA Kudas. I have found that mine way h each other and copy cat. If they see what fun yours have hunting I bet they will jump right in. Worst case scenario... You give them to me!!!

Hmm. Bout 15 mins a day. Then 30 mins when tinkering with the Sump. And about an hour when doing a WC.

1-2 hours day. Some times used to do testing, cleaning or just watching the fish.

Oh now we aren't counting time watching the fish are we? Lol. Cause my time would be calculated as every time I walk by the tank, then I stare for about 1 1/2 hrs in between day lights off and actinics cause I love the twilight hour .

Yeah... well after totaling time spent in tank maintenance, observation, LFS visits, R2R, etc... I've come to a well thought out decision. I'm not telling.

Are we counting the time spent thinking about what needs to be done? Cause that'll affect my number profoundly.

Agreed! The nights spent laying in bed puzzeling over that new algae or if the expense on new lights can be justified. I aslo agree with the post on NOT wanting to add it up, cause when we do it IS work.

I am trying to make my tank as hands free as possible. ATO, timers, compatable inverts, etc.

I usually spend very little on my tank unless I am going though a revamp, those happen twice a year minimum.
