How often are you "in" your tank?

I find myself constantly wanting to reach into my tank just to move something, brush something off, change fans, grab a floating piece of ?, fix a snail, separate a potential brawl...

I try to use those fiber optic pointer things as much as I can to move things around and what not. That and my telescoping sand rake and turkey baster. I really only need to put my hands in the water when I'm target feeding coral or cleaning

yeah, I use long gloves and tongs too. My poll was somewhat meaning "in your tank" for any reason, not just hands. Didn't do well spelling that out!

I don't want to be in there, but sometimes you just have to. For me, it's when the caulerpa algae (hate the day I let that get a toe hold) and asterina starfish. If I don't take them out when I see it, the next thing I know I'm getting overrun!

Hands every couple of weeks for a full glass clean versus the magnetic scraper every few days.
Coral feeder/tongs maybe once a week to blow off zoas, stir a bit of algae on the sand or pick up the useless algae clip that never seems to stay stuck...

I generally try aim for 1-2x a day to feed fish however there is also ways a coral that’s fallen or not doing good in the place it’s in (Whether that’s just light issues or it’s stinging neighbours).
So generally it’s 1-2x a day with 3-5x a day when it’s a water change day.

My hands are in tank at least daily attaching more algea (red ogo, red pom pom) or nori onto clips. I can use clip magnet outside tank to raise clip inside tank to nearly surface, but I still have to reach in and grab it. Other than this, my hands are mostly out except for weekly cleaning maintenance.

Make a list of tasks to take care of on water change days. I use long tweezers/tongs for "urgent" tasks. I am certainly not prefect, but I try to minimize my interference.

If I have to go in for anything substantial, I wear long chemical gloves. That being said, I hand feed my tangs every morning. I can't help myself.
