How often do you catch yourself in a lost state staring at your setup?

Have you ever just found yourself just lost in your own “Atlantis” creation? Just in awe of the things you spent time and money on which makes you wanna go bigger? I know I do, I also look around my home wondering where I can put up another without the wife killing me lol. Tell me what your thoughts are when you find yourself lost in your “Atlantis”

I just set up another tank after a year hiatus. My last tank crashed and I lost everything. All I have is water and rock with the pumps going and I keep looking at it.I have a problem haha

Everyday, to the point that I will never finish anything I supposed to do. My wife and kids knows that I have been “diving under the sea” the whole time if I mentioned I didn’t noticed the time have passed and I have done nothing.

I am always tinkering, but not to go bigger. I like my size and shape tank. My smaller systems, I am always thinking of ways to change, re-plumb, better maintenance, grow better,etc.
I get lost in the maintenance from time to time. I just am doing it in a zen type of mood. I love to get lost in it at times.

I love to watch and dream of when it fills out more, but I always manage to find that one piece that needs to be moved or that side that is not clean enough, or a certain coral would look good here. Tinkering.

I always try to find ways to improve mine regardless if it’s the size or placement. Like you say I’m always tinkering as well, I also make suggestions out loud on what I need to upgrade and all my wife hears is how much money its gonna take

Lol because im only authorized a small tank where im living now. Plus my wife isnt as obsessed as i am. Fortunately my wife fell in love with aquariums too after we started dating. When i started my build it was my tank. Now its our tank lol. Pro tip guys: your SO will be much more into the tank if you let them pick out stuff. Theres a few things she wants that i dont care for, but im absolutely going to get them anyway. Small price to pay, since shes down to make day trips for aquarium related stuff. Plus, shell probably want a bigger/another tank too after she gets tired of hearing we cant have that, our tank isnt big enough.

That’s how I managed to get the tank size I have now.. I’m pushing for another tank as well but I’m just waiting on her to give In because the fish I really want can’t live in my current setup and she wants a lion fish eventually so it’s a waiting game at the moment
