Like the title says.. How often do you check your parameters?

When I started : almost every 5 days ( CA,ALK,MG)
Tank reach 6months : Once a month ( CA,ALK,MG)
Tank reach 1yr- and present : I hardly check unless I see corals SPS ( Rtn) LPS ( bleaching )..( CA,ALK,MG)

I want to know how often do you guys check your parameters ?...I am not sure if its just me that when my tank matured, I just let it run its course..

thanks

Same here. I've had mine running for around a year and haven't checked. Bi-weekly water changes and that's it.

I probably check around once a month... I use the corals as my test kits!!!

I got lazy too. Lately I noticed my sps growth was a bit slower the usual. I decided to run the tests tonight and got ALK 8 Mg 1100 and CA 330, so guess I gotta bump up my daily dosing....

Once a month unless i think even the slightest weird thing, coral is the best indacater.

well everything is messed up with mine right now so I am trying to check every 3-5 days to make sure my carx hasn't hiked up my rates thru the ceiling or let them fall thru the floor. I should have checked tonight but was to lazy.

I just figured that with the face value of all of the tanks I'd have 515 gallons and my huge water change setup I did (my old 125 is tied in and running all of the time just glass and water) is only 25%.

The process is:
I drain all of the water out of the 125 shut off feed and the drain line, refill with ro/di water then mix salt, then when temp and sg matches tie it back in. but dang only 25% of the total water volume, that is like 50 bux a water change!

yeah , i still dose alk and calc so i check when i forget to dose on time , or at all. see where my system is at.

I test something or other daily on one tank. I'm dosing 2 part and using a new salt mix so I'm trying to figure out what works, how much, and when. Another tank I just test prior to a WCs - I probably don't need to do that but I like seeing what's happening over the course of several months.

weekly water changes and monthly tests

I do watch PH, temp and salinity via my controller often. Only if everything could be monitored by a controller...oh what will the future bring us.

I check once a month on average. Currently checking everything because I just moved it all to a new tank haha.
