Before when I had fish hehehe

Pair of Maroons.... 2 cubes of brine shrimp 2x a day 4x a week, 2 cubes mysis shrimp 1x a day 5x a week

Seahorses.... 7 cubes of very finely chopped mysis shrimp 5x a day 7x a week, 2 cubes of finely chopped brine shrimp 4x a week.

Right now i use rods food every day for the fish and then every other day i add another type of frozen
i use algea sheets 3-4 times a week
corals get feed 3 days a week

fish--- 7 days a week frozen brine, emerald, mysis small amt of each, and couple drops of amphi
coral-- 7 days a week photofeast and frozen cyclopeze
anenome--- every other day 1 shrimp

That could be why u have high nitrates, corals dont need to be fed everyday, bring that down to 3-4 times a day and u will see a drop in nitrates :)

NO not even close :) i only feed my corals 3 days a week one day is rotifers one day is coral frency and the third day is live photoplankton

oh okay then. so i can do one day phytofeast one day and another day frozen cyclopeze or whaterver. and i will do it just 3x a week then. thanks

well i appreciate it. its hard to be sure about the feeding and everything. and when you ask someone at an lfs there usually isnt a real answer. so how much phytofeast should i use when i feed it. i think the bottle says 4tsp or something but i had been using 2 1/2 or 3 per feeding

I just use 2-3, and hey thats why i like these polls bc it lets every one else see what other reefs do :)

rods food several times a day. aminos once a day

not really an option for me to vote...but I picked daily for both just to give you a vote

How many fish do you have that your feeding them more then once a day?

Average fish loads

I have went way out of my way to make my systems very efficient so I can feed absolutely as much as I want whenever I want without paying the price.

My fish are surely fat and happy for it and if I dont feed that much my phosphate levels are too low and my corals pay the price.

Fish poop ...its whats for dinner :)

lol thats to funny. So you dont have any nitrate problems with all the feedings? BTW how do u like your rods food? See i was told by the people who sell it only feed it every other day bc its so rich.

nitrates zero. phosphates I have intentionally worked up to .04/.05 from the .01 that wasnt doing me or my corals any favors.

it took me a while to figure out my goal of creating super efficient systems was very successful. and some of my corals paid the price in the rpocess/learning curve

you think you want near zero phosphates until you achieve it. then you realize you really dont

as far as Rods food. its great. I havent fed my tangs nori in months. they just get rods all they can eat. I sued to make my own and the recipe is similar to what i made, but even though rods is expensive....its not so bad if you are like me and every other time end up letting your storebought food you buy to make it rot in the fridge before you get around to making a batch :)
