How safe is Hydrogen Peroxide

I am still learning. I'd heard of spot spray GHA and rinse and done it a few times, but not dipping in HP. Sorry for the losses but thank you for sharing the outcome. Hang in there.

There has been a massive procedural update to how peroxide is effectively used in the reef tank

enter rasping, stage left

see the last few pages here
https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/reef2reef-pest-algae-challenge-thread-hydrogen-peroxide.187042/

so the point of rasping is, we use a metal tool to actually scrape and dislodge the algae, surgically, working around non targets, and the peroxide is used only at the end after all the visible target was made gone using a steaknife. the peroxide is used to clean up individual cells leftover and clumps of cells that are too small to see

used in this manner, no corals die, no nontargets die, and the target 100% dies. wonderful

it requires you to either drain the tank to access the spot, or lift out the rocks as the downside. the good side is, no loss except for target.

Hello, I use HP for dip and algae removal sometimes. Works great, it kill almost all pest (including flatworms, they die and if you toch them the get desintegrated, brown ones at least) and almost all invertebrates (bristle worms bye bye, they float). I use 10 volume HP in a 10% dose (app.).
With some corals with soft tissue (Euphylias and Hairy Mushrooms so far in my experience) HP acts very strong and bubbles get into the tissue...It looks very strange, but after a cuple of days they are back to normal with no signs of stress. I have tryied with almost all corals.
(that is my experience with HP)
Do you think it could kill coral picking peppermint shrimp?
