How to do bryopsis mag treatment?

i have a little bryopsis..and the crabs arent fast enough so i bought some tech m...now what exactly do i do?

also i dont have anything to test my mag so should i not do this?

wil mag touching a coral burn it?

do i need 2 clean the tank after i dose it?

You will slowly dose to increase mag levels per day till you reach 1600-1800 and keep it steady at this level for about 3-4 weeks till the bryopsis is completely gone. You will need to test for mag to see where your levels are at all times. Rule of thumb is that you do not dose what you can't test for.

mine been at 1800 for 5 days all is gone no sign at all of bryopsis i had alot too just go slow

Definitely get a test kit before you start, I like Salifert personally.

+1 to above KLR. Get a test kit. It's well worth it. I like the Salifert Mag kit too. You need to know where your levels are. You're on the right track with the TechM. That stuff "can" be a miracle worker on certain types of bryopsis.

well after i get the test kit and dose the mag..is there any aftermath cleaning required?

No cleaning. The bryopsis seems to just melt away after a while. Just dose, let the TechM do it's work and that's it. Keep in mind that it will not work on EVERY type of bryopsis but it's the best thing to try. Good luck! : )

no cleaning required, it just dies off. I got mine to 1600 and it took a month to go away. I just tried to come up with a dosing schedule that required dosing tech m everday, (small amounts), something in Tech M that most bryopsis does not like, tried other supps and to no avail, only Tech M worked for me.

I've never heard of algae magic (in fact, it should be against the law to use both of those words together...lol) but I would use one algae treatment at a time. Best not to overload with chemicals. JMO of course.

ok it only a 3 day thing and tonight is day 2.its 3 days every 2 weeks...got rid hair algae last time...btw i have a little hair algae in this tank too

I would recommend finding out more WHY the algae is growing in the first place, and then try to change that. The treatments will work, but only temporarily, not sure exactly why you'e getting the algae initially, but if you continue to over feed, overdose iodine, runs lights too long, too much waste/not enough WC's, etc..... You will get the algae right back in no time! I would suggest finding out the source of your bryopsis issues as well as treatment, so you can be prepared to KEEP IT GONE! Hope this helps...

I think it is my bulbs are getting old...5 months t5 bulbs.i just bought new ones they should come in this week

I would definitely treat with TechM to get rid of the Bryopsis. Low level nutrient aquariums can be overrun with Bryosis, it is very invasive. The higher the mag level the faster the die off. But, please go slow with the dosing, take your time increasing the levels and test every day for the first 3-4 days and see how fast your raising the level then test every few days when you get your dosing down pat. If the high levels of mag/what ever is in Tech M doesn't kill your hair algae along with your bryosis then look into the reasons for the growth of HA. I would not use any herbicide within a reef environment even if it states reef safe.
