how to keep bubble anemone at one spot

Once you've addressed the other issues or eliminated those, I read an article in one of the Reefkeeping magazines where it was listed that someone had a ton of success in keeping anemone's in one spot by making them feel that they are on a precipice, where they had nowhere else to roam. It wasn't with bubble tip anemone's, was another kind (can't remember now, and the magazine is at my desk at work), but that may be worth a try as well to keep them from wandering around.

you salinity is a bit off and your alk is to high, what kind of lights you running? bta usually like higher light. also try putting them into a flower pot! Mine never walk and are always happy

the carbon will help, also yes on the ro-di water,hope this helps, post us a coupl of pics when the anemone gets settled down

Coral reefs are considered nutrient deserts and corals, anemones, and many other reef inhabitants have evolved to thrive in these conditions. Tap water has dissolved solids of all kinds within it. Much of these dissolved solids are not found on coral reefs and can cause problems for reef inhabitants either directly, or indirectly. In a closed system like our aquariums, we get evaporation that needs to be replaced. This means that all that bad dissolved solids stay behind while we add more with the tap water replacement. This can cause all kinds of long term issues and some people do not see these issues right away, but as these bad dissolved solids build up, things start to go wrong. At this point, it will cost more time and money to fix, then it would have cost you to buy an RO unit. With RO or DI water, you have 0 desolated solids, or close to it. When mixed with a good sea salt all of the proper dissolved solids are replaced without any of the bad stuff. I think using clean water is the single most important thing in reef keeping hands down... If your water is dirty from the start, you will never succeed long term.

RODI is very important, I was a tap water and amquel user until hair algae took over my tank. I have switched to RODI and the hair algae is being eliminated slowly but def no new growth. Have also noticed my corals all doing much better, polyp extension, color everything is better! I also wonder how you have 2 radions but use tap water, very strange.
In my experience in 'nem keeping, lots of peeps say they like light and flow, which is "somewhat" true. A Nem will like to foot in cave like area, maybe under the ledge of a rock for safety. I've had the experience that they DO NOT like direct flow on them. They have the ability to stretch for a long way and will find the flow and light that they want. Mine hang out inside a 3 - 4 inch cave and as soon as the lights come on, they love to stretch out into the flow and settle on a rock and "sun" themselves. So once get your params in order, find a rock that is out of the flow and that has a space kind of under the rock and set your flow maybe 4 or 5 inches above. The nem will/should rise up and "discover" the flow on it's own and it will find the amount that it is comfortable with, same with light.

Why even worry about where they go they have rights also. They will find there happy spot and thats where they need to be. Only ro water and keep parameters as near perfect as possible.

These are not tips on how to keep it in one spot but after reading this thread I noticed a lot of things you were doing wrong ...First off 40% water changes are way extreme.. You generally don't change that high percentage of water at one time unless something has really gone wrong... The Key thing to saltwater is mainly stability...I would do smaller changes more frequent...next you are already screwed of using tap water... RODI not just RO..is VERRY important...you want 0 TDS in your water supply...RO water will still have TDS and other stuff in it you don't want so DI is VERRY important... Also make sure you match your salt parameters and your heat parameters when doing your water change (test your make up water).. I have a 50 gallon brut garbage can with a powerhead in it on wheels that I use when I am mixing up water… I run my are RODI unit until it fills it up and just keep a good amount of already mixed water on hand...I also keep a ton if top off water on hand as well... Do you top off? It is Important to top off to keep your salinity stable...So the first thing I would do if I was you would be to lower your amount of water you change each time ... Pick up a good RODI unit(VERRY important)... and get a carbon and GFO reactor to help clean the water... Call up Bulk Reef Suply and Their customer service will help you out with whatever you need... Just remember if you start up with bad make up water from the beginning you're always going to be behind because you never started out with a chance..Good luck...

I completely agree with Reefer831 and everyone else that mentioned the RODI unit. Yes, it is VERY important!
But also in agreement with Reefer831, you need smaller and more frequent water changes so you keep a stable cycle.
I think if you do those two things and maybe sell a few of your fish to lessen your bioload, you will be safely ready in a month or two for another anemone.
