Wondering if there's a way to rid my tank of GSP. Manual removal without ruining my rocks would be a serious chore. This is a problem I let go too long. Looking for any solutions that are safe my other coral and don't involve having to ruin the bacteria on my rocks

I have no advice to give here, but **** me I actually WISH my GSP would grow. Half the time it doesn’t even extend, while everything else is chilling. Just want it to grow and take over the island I made for it.

Mine started on an island and is in the process of completely taking over my 90g. Seems like overnight it starred growing and took over everthing.

give it to me ;)

JK, as long as you can take out other soft corals and inverts try the method people use for getting rid of blue clove polyps.

note: if you cant take out soft corals and inverts, it will most likely kill them too. Some more than others.

Aiptasia-X or Kalk paste works at killing them

would kalk paste ruin the bactieria on your rocks? you could remove them smear it over the GSP and then rinse it off before you put it back... I've never tried it but someone recommended using that when I was asking about trying to get it stop spreading over my main rock.

I know kalk paste can do it. In my case the rock would need to be removed for that treatment. I have a LOT of gsp. So smearing kalk over all of it would send my parameters nuclear.

Heard of this one also. Currently have more CuC set to be mailed next week. Worried about the effects on my anemone though.

Can you remove rocks? If so replace with new rock. Been slowly doing this with some of my mushroom rocks.

I've had some success in the past with peeling it back with tweezers and an xacto knife, but that stuff can get down in crevices.

Removal and H2o2. Not sure if it would kill gsp. Try on one rock?
Brainstorm session was in hopes to prevent removal. A small piece I missed on previous removal got into the flow and made its way onto my main structure without my notice. By the time I did it was too late. Manual removal leaves too much behind and it just regrows.

Borrow my angel fish
Haven't heard they eat GSP? All you can eat buffet in my tank. I have room for fish. Only 8 in a 90g for years now.

I have kalk on hand. Do I need to cover the entire mat or does a small amount spread the effect?

I'll send you some green striped mushrooms....they killed my GSP...but then you have to deal with mushrooms.
