This both amazing and infuriating... because now I realize how much money I've thrown away over the years on new Cepex valves! :mad:


This was on an 8" schedule 80 T worth about $650.

You can use heat gun to do it it is even easior. I do it all the time if something needs to be redone.
I don't think I would try this trick myself unless maybe for 3" fittings and larger, but the rest are cheap enough to recycle IMO....and just be careful in the first place – 3" fittings are expensive!!!![]()
It is interesting to know that heat will cause that cement to release...I was under the misimpression that the plastics from the pipe and fitting were being more permanently bonded! Doh!
I've always been a measure twice cut once type...It's not a perfect strategy, but so far no wasted fittings!
(BTW, good production, but the intro and lead in for the vid seemed way too long.)
