I have and set of socket reliever pipe fitting reamers (professional plumbers use), but your video is a cheaper alternative.

I don't think I would try this trick myself unless maybe for 3" fittings and larger, but the rest are cheap enough to recycle IMO....and just be careful in the first place – 3" fittings are expensive!!!

It is interesting to know that heat will cause that cement to release...I was under the misimpression that the plastics from the pipe and fitting were being more permanently bonded! Doh!

I've always been a measure twice cut once type...It's not a perfect strategy, but so far no wasted fittings!

(BTW, good production, but the intro and lead in for the vid seemed way too long.)

I actually saw someone so this in person. At first I was thinking no way this is going to work. But like the video it did. This was on an 8" schedule 80 T worth about $650. Great video!

They sell a drill bit for this called a RAM BIT I use mine on jobs all the time . But good trick

You can use heat gun to do it it is even easior. I do it all the time if something needs to be redone.

Ya, measure twice cut once... but what happens when you decide to change things up?
I've had to change 1.5" beananimal plumbing before.... a 1.5" Cepex ball valve is 50 bucks! That's not cheap enough to recycle for me.
Sucks having to bite that bullet.
I would have loved to have been able to reuse them.
