How to soft plumb ReefOcto Various return pump

Altho 733 cures fully in 24hrs I have used it after a couple of hrs with no ill effects. You can always give it the sniff test. If it has a strong odor don't use it. For what you are using it for it will be plenty strong after 30 mins or so.

Is this far enough on the barb for me to just clamp it ? Or do I have to sink it down 100% I will rub all my skin off if I keep trying to go any further. Yes I used fire

Run the hose under your hot water for about 30 seconds. That will soften it enough for it to go all the way down. It's always best that it clears the barbs and you clamp it right under the barbs. But in this case and I see you almost burned your house down LOL... As long as you can get the Barb clamped at the bottom you should be all set.

OOPS yeah I did burn it a bit lol, do these work or do I need to use something thinner

I've never use those in fear of them rusting. But other than that they will do the job. I've always used the plastic ratchet ones like someone else here posted. That doesn't have to be on there super duper tight. The Barb's threw a pretty good job of holding the hose in place. It's more of a safety net that I use all the time.

Yeah true , alright . Lol I don’t know why I didn’t think of rust. I didn’t want these because of that

Yeah get some of those plastic ones.... even zip ties will work. Get 2 and fasten them opposite to each other.

I was gonna do zip ties actually cus this thing is already so tight

I almost have the tube all the way on, probably 1-2mm off from it maxed out. My hand is about rubbed raw yes I did hot water too

okay it’s a little late. I got work today lol. I had to drain the tank, AGAIN . Move it away from the wall because I realize the light mount wouldn’t fit . Then refilled it, then was able to hook up all the equipment . I left the return pump off tonight and didn’t fill it to the full point yet. Leaving it for tonight till I get back to it tomorrow .
