How to tell if tank has cycled

Test your water params. Also smell the tank. If it smells like the ocean you're on the right track. If it doesn't you're not there yet. But don't listen to me. Test your parameters and follow your cycle. Ammonia to nitrite to Nitrate.

I just tested it and my ammonia is 0.25 after about 7 mins in the color change test when should I be worried about it and the nitrites and nitrates are both 0 as of now

Are you using API test kits? If so I think you're safe. It's hard to tell with API

For cycling it doesn't really matter. If you've been at it for 6-8 weeks and are getting a. 25 on API I would say you're good. Keep in mind the bacteria will grow with your tank. Don't go dump 15 fish in the system as it won't handle that. Start with one (please set up a QT, to loose a fish to ich and have to go fallow for 2 months is brutal) and go slow. Nothing in reefing happens quickly or on your schedule

It's been set up about 6 months I had fish some died tested for ammonia but never had any on the test I put two Clow fish in and a clean up crew Thursday now I'm reading .25

I wouldn't worry about it. Relax don't worry and have a beer. Oops. Wong forum. As the the cycle it's probably fine. If it's been setup for 6 months it's fine

Hi 88, I'll set you up with live rock for $4/lb and throw in a few free corals that are very hardy and great for beginners. All my rock is is a system that's been running for years. Shoot me a pm if interested.
