Hey reefer just came home today and to see my fish covered in what looks like ich. Is there any treatment to use without killing my corals

Nothing that I believe is proven. There are plenty of ways of going about how to treat this though. First step is to set up QT tanks to keep your fish in. Then treat the fish in QT tanks and keep your tank fish free for 75days.

You have to quarantine and treat it in a separate tank from the corals. Only way to fully get rid of it in your DT.

And leave the DT fish free for 2 months
Question is it normal for ich to have such a big outbreak in a day? Because yesterday when I was feeding them my puffer fish was fine no spots on him what so ever even the day before when I did a water change they didn’t have any thing on them

Pics please. It could be ich or velvet.

Yes because the fish could get stressed from the change in parameters and their immune systems are compromised, leading to the outbreak.

Did you add anything recently? That looks more like velvet to me. If so quick action needs to be taken as most fish dont make it past 48 hours. Only way is tontransfer to a qt and run them through copper treatment.

I put a black spine urchin in 2 or 3 weeks ago

How do I treat that?

i saw your puffer have cloudy eyes too, it’s velvet. you should remove to QT and slowly bring down salinity.

Coppermine and I’ll be getting vita chem just because I ordered it the other day
Do you have the ability to setup a qt tank and transfer all the fish over? Cupramine is ran at .5ppm for therapudic levels. Do you have a salifert or seachem or hannah tester for your copper levels? You can give the fish a freshwater dip to help relieve them from the parasite a little bit and buy you some extra time as you setup and ramp up the copper in your qt. Being that velvet is a fast killer you usually want to ramp up copper slowly, but want to go quicker with velvet.

if you have fish only, you should bring down salinity or move to QT.

Unfortunately I think they mentioned having corals in an earlier post:(

And what do I do to the dt?
If you're moving the fish over to a quarantine you do nothing to the display tank. Once all fish are out of the dt and moved to a qt just let the dt run fishless for 76 days.
