How will a dead coral affect my water quality?

I got 4 small pieces of Xenia from my LFS yesterday. 2 of them look dead but I am not sure. How will a dead coral affect my water?

I had glued 4 pieces of Xenia to this rock and I only see 2 pieces. 2 or the xenias have disappeared and I don’t see them in the tank. Did they die? Will that affect my water.

Depends on bio-mass and tank size. If each piece was 300mm in diameter I would vote not good. If they were frag size pieces you won’t even notice. I’m with the others though. The glue probably failed and they are now growing on an overflow or pump just waiting to ruin your day.

They were the same size as these pieces. Idk where they are do you think they went down the drain?

I don’t have any carbon and I might need to get some.

I don’t see anything on my pump. If it is stuck under a rock what should I do?

Instead of glue, you can place your corals on a piece of rock and wait for it to attach itself. I like these cups made specifically for this purpose.

Ok I will order some of those. How worried should I be about 2 missing pieces of Xenia?

Things perish,get lost eaten and destroyed. Adds to the overall biome.
They're small I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Good news just found them under a rock. I took them out

My Xenia looked like that for a week before they bounced back , try not to touch them or move them or anything or they will always be irritated.

@Reef Devils your good this will not do anything to your tank I’m sure 6 months from now you’ll know where it went these will not effect your tank at all I have Kenya trees in my tank all over and wish they just shriveled away
