How would you finish this bar top reef

Hello everyone! Title says it all, basically I'm having trouble deciding how to finish the bar top, and I'm curious to see what other people would do.

me personally I would finish it with something thats either white or black and very glossy. im not certain if that would call for paint or another material.

I know what your saying, I epoxy coated a sample of crushed coral hoping for white results but I got natural brown... I think I need to try may be a different type of substrate?

I would go with a nice black gloss to match with the trip on the top shelf.

Thanks! I've been experimenting with paint and epoxy , maybe I'll have to try a white and black swirl, but this one is pretty cool to

Really cool sand idea I would find out a way to get it to be white. But it would need to be really fine sand, so it wouldn't scratch glasses.

Only one way to find out. And, hopefully you will only be doing this once. Why not do it right?

Well the sand is underneath the epoxy, actually it's mixed in with it and then the sand settles to the bottom so you have a hard layer Of bar topper epoxy over it, it almost seems that the sand that I have my tanks is white because of the lighting in the tanks so I might have to try creating that lighting over the bar top

Only one way to find out. And, hopefully you will only be doing this once. Why not do it right?

Did some looking and Menards has granite countertops for $200 24" x 96 so I guess it's Possible, I would have a seam but maybe it won't look that bad

Didn't think of that, which also spawned another idea lol, would be a bit of work but cut a nice log up, plane the slices and square them up into tiles like this

Do it in some kind of ceramic tile, they have lots of different colors and they even have granite tile at most places. I used a dark and light mixed looking slate tile for my stand.

The tropic eden brand Sands look whiter to me than the others. They sell samples too so you could try a couple inexpensively for a test

I would go with something to match the rest of the wood in the room, of similar color. Unless you plan on painting or staining the wood. It looks great!

Maybe a dark butcher block like walnut. Wood look nice with the rest of the wood.

Wood is definitely sharp looking as a bar top, my original idea was old bowling alley but that was before I realized its 2" thick, lol. I've been thinking about trying to recreate the idea with thinner pieces but I can't seen to find boards with some knots and character to it
