Huge Lighting Overhaul | 300gallon Reef

Hey guys, I have a 300 gallon SPS dominant tank and the system was lit by 3 gen3 Radions non pro, 3 AI Vegas and 4 T5 bulbs. This included 6 fans 8 power supplies, to power and cool 8 fixtures.

I'm pleased to tell you, I think* I found the perfect solution. The Philips CoralCare gen2 light. I am lucky enough to have been sent some of these to be a guinea pig and share with all of you! Subscribed. First thing that stands out to me is how large they are (that’s a good thing). It appears you’re able to replace 2 radions and a hydra 62 for each single coral care right? Plus your t5 supplements. If you’re able to still hit those same par numbers thst is a massive win. The overall spectrum that came across in the video was more pleasing and natural to my eye. Looked like a t5 tank with lots of daylight bulbs in it which is what I like

I'm sure that I'll have more questions/comments, but at the moment:

• I'm interested to see your PAR readings.
• Are there any manual controls (e.g., switches, knobs, etc.) on the lights or are the lights controlled completely through WiFi?
• You commented about not needing T5s caught my attention - I look forward to hearing more about that.
• What is the smallest tank that you would reasonably put these over?
• Is there anything special or worth noting about the lens on the light?
• The output looks great on the screen, but you can see them in person - what are your eyes telling you about these lights?
• Of course, I think we all want to know how they affect coral health and growth!

But is it still a 200watt unit like a single XR30. I'm loving the idea of this unit too, just hope it can produce the par that would replace a pair of Radions.

They are huge but yet they actually save a ton of space (no power supply, cover larger area). I haven't measured par on these lights yet but within the next week for sure. I measured the par at different corals throughout the tank ( top, middle, sides, front, back, under the braces) and I'll be comparing with these. You can immediately tell, "that tank looks like a T5 tank", there is much less shimmer than any other LED fixture I've ever run.

They are rectangular and you would need 3 as you can run them long ways and they cover 36" by 24" or so

But is it still a 200watt unit like a single XR30. I'm loving the idea of this unit too, just hope it can produce the par that would replace a pair of Radions.

Says it's a 170w unit. More on par in the next episode!
