All of it is overpriced IMHO. I’m just glad that I got mine when it was $600 for the full model because I wouldn’t be willing to pay the $900 that it costs now.

How much did the salinity probe used to cost? I don’t remember but I wasn’t thinking it was even close to $200. For that cost there is no chance I will replace mine when it eventually fails.

The price difference is deceptive because there was a drop in the price of the old one when the new one was released to clear out old stock the old one was $799.99 for the longest time.

I'd be fine with the price hike if something else was put out to address issues with the probe. But to raise the price as much as they did for the same thing, which needs you to stand on one foot and twirl 3 times a day and hope it works properly is garbage...

The hamburger I just ate and will digest before morning has also doubled in cost since 2019.

I’ve never seen the benefit of the salinity probes personally so I’m glad they’re out of the packages. For new users, the FMM and LLS is far more beneficial.

Actually I just added up the things that are new to replace the salinity probe and you get the functionality of a FMM ($105), a lls ($60) and a leak sensor ($40). So actually cost wise it’s didn’t increase that much.

The FFM is a rebranded hyrdostatic eTape level sensor.

They are likely saving money by swapping the probe for the tape. At least on their end.
