My family is in pinellas county which they didn't evacuate and I'm starting to get worried because the hurricane started to go even more west, I fear it's gonna go into the gulf right next to them :( and strengthen. I live on Cape Cod mass and have a plan to drive down and rescue my sister and mom if their homes get destroyed, stay safe down there.

Praying for your family. St Pete was issued a mandatory evacuation this morning for all residents. Hopefully there is still time for them to evacuate with the rest.

I know I heard about the mandatory evacuation and They are planning on staying in a local shelter and honestly I will be in fear driving into the wreckage area with a nice working automobile plus desperate people everywhere but my family is worth any risk. Thank you for the prayer and I hope this is only a scare and the hurricane turns hard unexpectedly and nobody in Florida gets hit

Got some time this morning to find a Irma thread as it's silly to start another one, ONE FREAKING IRMA IS ENOUGH ;)

I hope that many hobbyist will chime in their ware bouts during Irma, I think it's only 24 hrs away to make landfall.
Just you guys know all my prayers go out to you guy and I bet all the friends of R2R are sending prayers as well.
To the guys on the highway.....................GET OF NOW YOU STILL HAVE TIME!!
In 2008 when Ike was supposing to hit but through bad judgment from the weather media and poor management from officials over 100 ppl past just being stuck on the highways.
Jackie @prsnlty send me this picture of 175/Hwy 44/ fl. turnpike and Wildwood the eye will go straight over that section as of now.

See the difference................. exactly............... get of the Highway and hunker down, there are ppl offering a place to stay!!

Wow that's a lot of tamales. Lol
I am in Largo ( Pinellas). We are evacuation C but I will be at work starting 6am tomorrow morning and I have to just stay until released. 1 day or however many I am needed. I have no way to take care of my 250g once I leave the house. Hopefully we keep power. I have a powerhead on battery back up that will last at least 4 hours. I have a couple battery air pumps if I can slip away to turn them on.

Good luck everyone. It will suck to lose the tank I call my Lexus but my safety is more important. So is yours. Stay smart.

+1! Get off the highway!

Every county has shelters if you don't have anywhere to go no matter where you are. Every school in Citrus including the college (WTI) are shelters and I can take in a family or 2 as well. The West coast of Citrus Co is evacuating inland or has already headed north. DON'T GET STUCK ON I75! Pm or text 3526132933 me if you want to get off at Wildwood and need a place to stay. I'm just 18 minutes down HWY44-Inverness. We do have a friendly dog - if you have allergies this may matter to you.

I'm in West Palm Beach. Looks like we are going to be spared from the worst of it. I am definitely going to be doing a back up power build. I have a generator but I have two reef tanks and two freshwater tanks. I would rather have battery back ups with a couple extra batteries to swap out as needed. After putting so much time into these tanks and watching them grow it would have been hard to watch them go down hill. Will be saving for some Jebao battery back ups. I use their power heads and they are reasonably priced. Wish everyone on the west coast the best.

My family lives right in her path as well. I completely understand how you feel.
