Very cool. Have you gotten it wet yet?

Not yet, still hopping around on one leg so it's tough to get everything lined up. Once I switch sumps I want to redo my return and drain plumbing at the same time, so I will need to be somewhat mobile. Trying to get around on crutches is not easy lol

I swear they are coming. But everything I go to snap a pic the glass is dirty or needs wiped down and then I lose interest in taking pics and limp away lol.

But tonight I did the impossible, last night I told @TaylorPilot that cutting out the individual holes for the filter sock silencers would take me a week. But in reality it only took an hour haha. So now all clear acrylic in the sump is now florescent green, yaaaaay!

Tomorrow night I might start the etching on the glass, who knows if I will though lol.

Ok so first part is a question for the calcium reactor ppl. Originally I was going to use the quiet one 1200 as my feed pump, but the more I thought about it the more I started to worry about putting too much pressure in the reactor from the feed pump compared to the effluent. I then remembered that I have this thing laying around:

The Stenner 45MP1. It's small (3gpd, 25psi) would this be a good pump to use on my Geo's Reef 618?

Second part:

I figured out where I want the CaRX to sit at. I figured it would be best under the stand and out of sight, for now I am also using a TLF media reactor as a 2nd chamber as well. I'm hoping soon enough to buy a Geo's reactor to match (I'm picky like that)

3rd part:

Did a little more on the new sump build. I got the pump installed (mag 12) to run my manifold. Filled the section with water and ran a run thru to check for leaks and it all came out dry, yaaaay! I also blacked out the back glass of the sump with vinyl. So now the only panel that you can see thru is the front panel. I also put a vertex probe holder in. But I decided to put it on the adjustable baffle so no matter what the probes will always be at the same water height. But I think I'm going to ditch the back magnets and weldon it to the baffle. I think I am also going to paint it black and then paint the screws green to match.

I used florescent spray paint on the piping. I use pipe cutters so it chipped the paint a tad when cutting, but that part went into the fittings so no harm done. To make the acrylic green I used automotive headlight tint found on ebay or amazon.

Thanks! I'm very happy with this sump build. I still want to etch the glass on the front to give me the skimmer section depth and a fill line on the return section. Not a big deal really but just something else I want to do to try and mimic the expensive acrylic sumps.

Yes, it's a standard 40b. I got the acrylic baffles from exotic marine to run as a prototype from him to see how it would fit and so on. He is selling the kit I believe now. Then the rest I did myself. Adding things along the way getting ideas from other sump builds I've seen along the way

Looking good. That pump should work as long as the pump was designed for constant use. I'm using the smallest pump tunze makes to feed mine then I drilled a hole on the outlet fitting to relief the pressure.

Thanks bro, I guess the real question is how fast will the effluent drip with this stenner pump. I'll have to give it a trial run in a bucket to see for myself.
