Continuation of the last update

So this is what I got in the mail today

Yup, the neptune apex WAV pumps! I figured I would try these out and see how I like them compared to my Vortechs. So I started to unbox them and then I forgot we had plans for the day haha! The family and I went to the Pittsburgh International Auto Show, this is an annual thing we do.

My daughter enjoying the wonders of automotive engineering. She was having fun playing with her reflexion off the paint on this beautiful Acura NSX (she has good tastes, like her dad )

My daughter again enjoying the day, this time sitting on a go kart. Maybe one day she will join the circuit and do this competitively? Haha


Ok, ok not what everyone wants to see but we had fun and I thought I would share

Now back to the fish tank.....

I got my wavs this weekend as well well Thursday I got them u have to let us know what settings ur running them on

And that NSX is breathtaking

I always enjoy seeing reef keepers other family activities. As obsessive as our hobby is, we all still have interesting lives and families.
In my case, I love the ocean and sportscars. My son got into karting and it was a great way to raise a child and use as a venue/arena to teach about life, values, morals, and behavior.
You will have less money for your reef keeping habit.
For me I got to see my son raised and spend time together.
My son got to go on to win the 2009 Grand National in the Rotax series [ the class kart she is in] and become a professional race car driver and instructor.
I have returned to my reef tank keeping and just being a father [no longer a race dad].

Enjoy the family outings and don't stop posting the pics. Your lovely daughter looks to be having a great time. One day these will be great memories for you while you are taking care of your reef tank.

Those cars are very nice.... But I want something I can use and when it comes time for maintenance, my wallet won't set on fire before I even pull it out to pay the bill..

Very true.. But most high end cars like that are built specifically to where they have to be taken into the dealer. There are some where you can't even change the oil by yourself... But when people get that rich, money is nothing to them. Haha.

So here is the rest of the Wav update lol

So everyone has seen the outside of the box already? Ok, good lets move on. Here is what I saw when I first opened the box

2x WAV pumps, a 1link module, 2x magnets, aquabus cable, power supply with cables.

Pulled the WAV's out and the quality is nice, very nicely built and not too heavy.

The mounting magnets are hardcore. These things would break small fingers. Don't forget to remove the warning sticker before installing lol

Mounted the 1link on the board. The new mounting system made it easy to put up. 2 screws and it was done.

My apex was updated and I updated the module as well via the display. I then went to Fusion and added the new tiles, the tech nerd in me loves new tiles lol.

My initial program, nothing fancy and definitely not powerful. Alongside my mp40s there is some major water movement going on.

What type of program are you running with the WAV's and any suggestions for me? Share! Share! Share!

Neptune Apex WAV alongside my Ecotech Marine MP40WES. Overall size is very similar, and adding the WAV's adding NOTHING to noise which is a definite plus. I mounted the WAV's up higher and turned the magnets sideways to make them point to the front of the tank while my mp40's shoot straight across.

All in all I am loving the addition of these, even though they are turned down tremendously. Time will tell if I am willing to part ways with my Vortechs and go with all WAV's in the tank but they are trending in a positive way. I don't want to go into a lot of details about them because lets face it, they have been out for quite some time and I don't want to bore everyone with the same writeup haha. But I will give a long term review down the road so obviously stay tuned for that.

Haha that's how it used to be, it was insane! It's tough to keep everything cleaned up, the board def helps with that.
