Now mind you, I bought my first controller from BRS. The DA Reef Keeper. I put a lot of money into that system. Then one day, it was all gone. BRS no longer stocked it. And yet, BRS didn't touch my feelz. Maybe I just don't have any

Not only did my IceCap "powered by Hydros" Wifi control app stop working because of CoralVue turning it off

The IceCap hard controllers just hit their programmed timebomb, and both stopped working simultaneously

I wouldn't buy a CoralVue controller if you paid me. Despicable business practice

I don't know what you are talking about.... If it is the Icecap powered hydros dual pump controllers that you speak of I am still using my Icecap Dual Pump Controllers. The app was wrapped up into the regular Hydros app. After the wave engines came out there was no need for the DPC, they still work though and they run on the wave engine software through the standard Hydros app. What a crumy buisness practice we found a way to update your outdated equipment so we did it for free darn.
I am not sure if you are aware but made by and powered by are 2 different things.

The DPC was an Icecap product that used Hydros software and still does. The pump that was sold with the DPC was a rebranded Maxspect Gyre, a gyre whose parent company Apeture Pet also owns BRS. BRS cut ties with anything Hydros including the DPC that did "hurt your feelz". So wouldn't that be BRS hurt your feelz that you so arogantly dont have?

Hydors is doing big things now. I don't own any controllers. But hydors is a nice option for control. Each piece is a stand alone. Unlike apex need and apex to run pumps and all the equipment. If you were to judge a company on the products they created but beco.e obsolete then why does everyone buy the new radions every year when everyone says version 4 is the Best? It's all marketing ne name new components and people buy them. Did you cancel windows computers when Microsoft stopped xp support? That's business make a product and then build and revamp to get a better product. Hence ice cap by hydors is no longer supported in favor of their new remodeled and branded ice cap control in the hydors.
Lastly when have you seen brs or Neptune or anyone from the company chime in on threads here??
How about hydors i see them in almost any thread that names them. That's a great representation of a company. Just like this thread

Joe took over glasscages with a bad reputation in the community he has since become a power house. He is very active on the forum and he post all his competition and put his company at 16. That's transparency and a great person to do business with

But that's not true? We actually just released a new firmware update for the IceCap Dual Gyre Controller.

As well, with our product design on HYDROS, No Hydros control or WaveEngine will EVER go obsolete.

The issue that I have is not with BRS but with Bertram Capital. Bertram Capital cares nothing about you and the health of your reef they care about draining your wallet. They are a big business who stepped into a small market and essentially monopolised it in a matter of months. They bought up not only marine Depot, BRS and now Marine and Reef, but they also bought 70% of the companies that make the products we use. In any other industry these practices are against the law, but in small obscure hobby markets such as ours these companies can fly under the radar.

It is also sort of odd that after the big ticking match and fire sale of Hydros products on BRS, Bertram Capital turned around and bought Marine and Reef. Then after the aquisition the Hydros product line was expanded and bolstered on MarineandReef. So it would appear that as BRS has quit selling Hydros gear Bertram has still found a way to profit from the sale of their products.

Competition in the market leads to better innovation, more competitive pricing. Monopolies lead to price gouging over lower quality goods.

I don't care were others people buy their goods from but myself personally I try to support smaller independent operators like my LFS or SWA or Hydros even if the money is still trickling back up to the evil overlords (Bertram Capitol).

Here is a perfect example of why Coralvue is my choice. Not only do they offer a better product they are quick to reach out and help you out even when you attempt to trash them. Everytime I have had any sort of question with my Hydros gear the team at Hydros was quick to respond and help me out. You just have to ask.
